This is one of my finer figure drawings showing my abilities in form conceptualization.
This was a drawing exercise in which we were to find an organic form in the outdoors and shade them accordingly. I chose this sculpted stone as my subject matter which I discovered what was, in actuality, a defunct fountain.
In this piece, the objective was to draw a figure whilst accommodating how the clothes of the figure fold around it.
This was not technically a course requirement, but I did make it while on a field trip in figure drawing class. I saw this replica of the “Three Graces” sculpture as a good subject for me to practice interactive forms as we didn’t have that in class.
This was an assignment that required a self-portrait with a twist of adding one or more reflective surfaces to distort it. I chose a simplistic pose and position, yet tried to incorporate dynamic angles using the background building’s inside architecture to house the subject matter
This was the final, semester-long project for my figure drawing class that required of me a large (18 x 24 to be precise) self-portrait with the added challenge of a dynamic pose. My instructor gave me a selection of inspirational art pieces to choose from to use as a reference for my piece. I chose to use a piece by Egon Schiele from 1917 simply titled “Seated Woman with Bent Knee,” as my inspirational artwork. It looks a touch on the feminine side, but, to put it simply, I don’t care. The pose was a challenge that I welcomed.
