Bent Knee – Self-Portrait Drawing

This was the final, semester-long project for my figure drawing class that required of me a large (18 x 24 to be precise) self-portrait with the added challenge of a dynamic pose. My instructor gave me a selection of inspirational art pieces to choose from to use as a reference for my piece. I chose to use a piece by Egon Schiele from 1917 simply titled “Seated Woman with Bent Knee,” as my inspirational artwork. It looks a touch on the feminine side, but, to put it simply, I don’t care. The pose was a challenge that I welcomed.
