ORU Golf Label (Unrealized Solution)

(I should first and foremost mention that the head of the bird is the ORU logo and is very much not my design. I made this as a potential extension to the existing logo.) Here is a label that I submitted as a part of a design team in my Graphic Design Studio class for the ORU Golf Team. I am much more confident in my traditional illustrative techniques when it comes to somewhat organic forms such as these, so I hand drew the label, using the Fibonacci sequence as my guide for uniformity, and finished the label on the computer. My solution wasn’t chosen by the clients, and we expounded on one of my colleague’s.

Droplets of Amsterdam – Inspiration Art Piece

In this project, I was given the task of seeking out an inspirational piece of historical art to model my own art piece after. I chose an obscure ink drawing by Rembrandt, which was one of many in a series of sketches of Amsterdam and other Nederland landscapes and architectural fortifications known simply as “The New Town-Hall in Amsterdam”. It depicts a new building recently installed in the center of the large open area, now removed. Amsterdam is often cloudy and precipitating, so I decided to be accurate in my piece. I used half ink for the droplets, indicating the past that Rembrandt saw, and half paint, indicating the lively present.

Truncated Icosahedron – Paper Cutting 3D Art Piece

In this Project, I was tasked to create a 3D object by assemblingĀ 2D shapes. I’m very familiar with polyhedrons, so I decided to make a soccer ball my object of choice. In 2D, I cut 20 equally-sized white hexagons and 10 equally-sized black pentagons. Then I assembled them in two semi-spheres, or bowls, and pieced them together.
